Zhong is a Chinese-learning app built and published by Take Care Studios LLC (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information is and is not collected when you use Zhong on Android or iOS, and how that information is handled. In short: your learning data never leaves your device, we run no accounts, servers, or analytics of our own, and the only data collection in the app comes from two third-party services — Google AdMob, which shows the app’s optional rewarded ads, and the Apple App Store / Google Play billing systems, which process in-app purchases.

Your Learning Data Stays on Your Device

Everything the app knows about you is stored locally on your device: your quiz progress and scores, lesson completions, study history, streaks, gems and unlocked items, and your chosen display name and avatar. None of this is ever transmitted to us or to any server we operate — we have no servers, no user accounts, and no analytics or tracking of our own. The display name you choose exists only on your device and is never asked to be your real name.

Your device’s own backup systems (iCloud on iOS, Google backup on Android) may include the app’s data in your personal device backups. Those backups belong to your Apple or Google account, are governed by Apple’s or Google’s privacy policies, and are never accessible to us.

Character pronunciation audio is generated by your device’s built-in text-to-speech engine. The app’s dictionary and lesson content is bundled inside the app itself, so the app’s learning features work fully offline.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Zhong shows optional rewarded video ads using Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google. When an ad is requested, the AdMob SDK collects and shares certain data with Google and its advertising partners. Depending on your platform, settings, and consent choices, this may include your device’s advertising identifier, IP address (from which approximate location may be inferred), device and app information, and ad-interaction data (such as which ads were viewed). We do not receive or store this data ourselves; it is collected by Google under Google’s own policies.

Where consent is required by law (for example in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland), you will be asked for your consent choices before ads are served, and ads will be personalized or non-personalized according to your choice. You can review or change your choice at any time via the privacy options in the app’s settings. On iOS, the app also respects Apple’s App Tracking Transparency: personalized advertising identifiers are used only if you allow tracking when prompted, and you can change this anytime in your device’s Settings. You may additionally reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings on either platform.

In-App Purchases

Purchases in Zhong (gem packs and content unlocks) are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. The record of what you have purchased is kept on your device so the app can restore your unlocks; the stores’ own purchase records are governed by Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies.

Log and Diagnostic Data

The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting services of our own. Apple and Google may provide us with aggregated, anonymized crash and performance statistics through their standard developer consoles; these contain no personal information and are governed by Apple’s and Google’s policies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell any data, and we do not share any data with anyone except as described above: the data collected by Google AdMob for advertising, and purchase processing by the Apple App Store and Google Play. Since your learning data never reaches us, we could not share it even if we wanted to.

Your Rights and Choices

Because all app data lives on your device, you are in direct control of it: you can erase everything by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app. For data collected by Google for advertising, you can exercise your choices through the in-app privacy options, your device’s advertising-ID settings, and Google’s My Ad Center. If you are in a region with data-protection rights (such as the EEA, UK, or California) and have any question or request regarding personal data, contact us at contact@takecarestudiosllc.com and we will help, including directing requests to Google where Google is the party holding the data.

Security

Your data’s primary protection is that it never leaves your device. Within the device it is stored using the standard application storage protections of iOS and Android. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but the absence of any transmission or server-side copy removes most risk categories entirely.

Children’s Privacy

Zhong is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — and as described above, we collect no personal information from anyone ourselves. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has used the app in a way that concerns you, contact us at contact@takecarestudiosllc.com and we will help, including directing any request to Google regarding advertising data.

Advertisements or this policy may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. These external sites are not operated by us, and we strongly advise you to review their privacy policies. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service, unless otherwise defined here.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example if the app’s advertising or purchase functionality changes. Changes are posted on this page with an updated date above, and are effective when posted. We advise you to review this page periodically.
